My personal experience with the Bosch JS470EB was excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed using the tool, and I used it for cutting through large amounts of sheet wood. It worked excellently, and the grip is sublime to grip.
In my opinion, this is the only jigsaw you will ever need to purchase, the sheer amount of power it possesses is a great bonus. It’s perfect for small, hobby work, along with heavy, industrial work. It seriously is a “one size fits all tool.” I could not believe how powerful it was, and it’s impressive – even for strong, dense hardwoods.

Blade
The Bosch JS470EB features a tool-less system for changing the blades. This is also extremely safe as it includes a small button that releases the blade. In terms of the blade quality itself, it performs excellently at whatever speed the user desires, it is also good for precise, slow cutting, along with fast, aggressive cutting – even for balsa wood.
Orbital Settings
The Bosch JS470EB also features four varying orbital settings, allowing you to set different blade strokes. This is a nice feature, as it allows you to optimize the tool depending on what you’re working with, whether it’s balsa wood, or larger, denser wood.
Variable Speed
Integrated on the tools, chassis is variable speed dial, allowing you to set the maximum speed. Speed is also controlled via a trigger mechanism. This two-stage speed mechanism is one of the most innovative features on any jigsaw currently on the market. It allows for deadly accurate speed changes, allowing you to make the cleanest and most accurate cuts possible.
Large Base
The Bosch JS470EB also features a large foot to improve stability – allowing for improved user experience, along with more accurate cuts. This works excellently, the base is also die-cast with a steel insert, making it heavy, which provides a greater level of stability.
Design
The design of this tool is good, however, don’t expect too much. What you do receive, however, is a good vibration dampening system integrated within the handle. The rubber coating minimizes vibrations to a point where they’re barely noticeable unless you are working at max speed. This reduces user fatigue, and also allows for ultimate stability.
The barrel grip is also excellent. However, it is more optimized for people with huge hands, it’s ergonomic – allowing for optimum comfort.

Conclusion
At a very competitive price point, you cannot fault the Bosch JS470EB – the overall stability and cutting power that it provides is simply sublime. For cutting hardwoods, simply turn the speed dial-up and push the trigger fully down and it will effortlessly slice through the wood and then turn the dial down for balsa wood. You can easily change the speed with a simple twist of the dial, allowing you to effortlessly optimize the tool for the material you are cutting within a matter of seconds.
