This tool features DEWALT’s new, refined miter system. This works excellently and is one of the most precise currently on the market. While the quality of the miter system is often overlooked, technically, it is one of the essential elements of a miter saw. The overall quality of a miter system can easily make or break a user’s experience of the tool. However, rest assured, the DEWALT DW715’s miter system is excellent and provides accuracy never seen before.
Design
This is one of the more interesting elements of this miter saw, rather than using the standard handle design, which many other miter saws use, where the handle is horizontal, directly above the saw blade. This tool sports a handle design, offset to the right of the saw blade, at first I was skeptical about this, however – after using the tool much more, this design is much better than the industry-standard. It makes it much easier to see the cutting line, improving the overall quality of the user’s cuts. In terms of aesthetics, this tool sports the usual brushed metal/yellow design adopted by DEWALT, and it looks excellent. With regards to ergonomics, the handle design highly adds to the overall quality of ergonomics, making this tool an absolute pleasure to use.

The motor within this tool is the standard 15 Amp motor, which is used by the majority of manufacturers. However, it utilizes a total of 4000rpm, which is much higher than the industry standard. Meaning this motor has enough power for all your needs, regardless of how demanding the project is. The motor is also of an excellent quality, even after extended use, for hours and hours, day after day, it won’t slow down or burn out.

The overall build quality of this tool is sublime for a reasonable price. In essence, you receive a durable, reliable, and powerful miter saw which is capable of nearly anything you throw at it. There is no wobbling of the tool or the mechanism inside. The build quality of this tool is excellent, which is crucial as even the slightest wobbling of the mechanism can contribute towards a bad cut – which can sometimes ruin a whole project.
Users observed that measurements are a bit off. They liked it for trim and crown molding and wanted the dust bag to capture more of the chips.
