I don’t work in a fancy restaurant, nor am I a chef. I just like to cook. Mind you, I am on a budget. I’ve recently purchased HDS-TEK TM Knife Sharpener. This incredibly knife sharpener has saved me at least a hundred dollars already, money that would have been spent replacing knives. As one of the most affordable sharpeners on the market, it will sharpen up all of your kitchen knives. I highly recommend this product to anyone who, like me, enjoys cooking as a hobby.
2 Stage Knife Sharpening Process
It’s simple, there is a two stage process to sharpen up your kitchen knives. The first stage is the coarse stage, grab your dull or blunt knives and pull them through this stage 3 or 4 times. Next up, we have the fine-sharpening stage, this will smoothly sharpen up the knife’s edge.
You won’t be dealing with top of the range knives using this product, but it will provide sufficient results for those more affordable day-to-day knives. If you have really old, dull knives then it is recommended that you run them through both stages of the sharpener. That way you can bring them back to life, and maximise their edge sharpness. However, if you have a knife that only needs a little sharpening, just use the second stage.
The first stage can be quite aggressive, which makes it perfect for those dull knives, but avoid using it unnecessarily. Another tip is don’t apply pressure when pulling the knife, stroke it through and let the sharpener do the work.
Safety is a big factor to take into consideration when dealing with knives, problems could arise when trying to sharpen your knives. Thanks to the intelligent design of this product these problems are minimised. The non-skid base prevents the sharpener slipping, sliding or you losing control, which could be a disaster. This feature is vitally important and lets you safely sharpen your knives with confidence, while keeping the sharpener sturdy.
Another important feature of this sharpener is the handle, the ergonomically designed soft grip handle. The rubber handle is comfortable to grip and easy to hold, which is very important when maintaining control of the sharpener. It provides balance to the sharpener and allows you to sharpen your knives with confidence. This feature combined with the non-skid base go a long way in ensuring you maintain control and your sharpener doesn’t slip away.
