I did not purchase them myself; however – I used one every day for around a year at my current workplace. Honestly, it is one of the best industry-grade miter saws currently available. Its vast collection of features simply amazed me, and all help to provide excellent quality cuts, along with keeping the operator safe.

Motor
This miter saw packs some serious power, with a huge 15 Amp motor, providing a total of 3,200rpm in direct drive. It will effortlessly slice through anything you throw at it, including skirting board, door frames, picture frames, even thin metal. It is extremely low maintenance, along with the rest of the tool. Despite the motor providing large amounts of power, it doesn’t heat up too much, which is especially important in an industrial setting where the saw is used each day for hours.
Laser Guidance System
The laser included with the saw is a 1.6mW laser, with 650nm. As standard with many laser guidance systems, it is a red laser. However, this laser is ridiculously bright; even working outside, you can still easily see the cutting line. It is of excellent quality, unlike many other manufacturers where you can only effectively see the laser when in a dark room.
Blade
Despite this tool only sporting a 10-inch blade, it possesses the capacity to cut the same size materials as a competitive 12-inch saw. Unlike many other manufacturers, the included blade is of excellent quality, and will easily slice through many pieces of wood before it requires replacing.
Design
The aesthetics and ergonomics of the Makita LS1016L are fantastic. I simply cannot fault them whatsoever. This tool features the classic blue/green color, accenting the classic brushed silver metal design. However, as aesthetics aren’t all that important, the ergonomics of the handle are excellent. However, it would have been nice to see it more usable for left-handed people, as the grip is predominantly designed for right-handed users, which is acceptable. However, it would’ve been a nice touch to include an ambidextrous grip on this tool.

As you would expect from a tool within the industrial-tier, this tool is built to last. It shows too, as with some other manufacturers, many screws slowly wobble-free over time, causing an unstable machine. However, with the Makita LS1016L, even after a large amount of use, it was still as sturdy and durable as the first day it was used. The aluminum base also aids this, due to the large size providing a larger surface area, to keep the machine more stable.
Other customers also observed it slides and cut smoothly. Most customers find it the best saw they ever owned.

Conclusion
I cannot fault this tool, with it being industry-grade, it’s not for everyone. However, for serious enthusiasts or tradesmen – there is no need to look further for a miter saw, as the Makita LS1016L has all the features that any serious tradesmen would ever need. It also provides deadly accurate cutting, allowing for even the most precise of tasks to be effortlessly completed with the Makita LS1016L.
