My personal experience with the Oregon PowerNow CS1500 was of pure excellence. At a very competitive price point, it provides an ample amount of power and features to satisfy the user.
I am glad it features a full size 18″ bar and chain, as I did use this chain saw to saw through a fair few large trees, and it effortlessly did. I was overall, pleased with this tool, it outperforms all of the chainsaws I’ve owned in the past, including petrol counterparts. It also achieves this at an excellent price for the number of features.

Motor
The electric motor within the Oregon PowerNow CS1500 is amazing! Seriously, it’s a high powered 15 Amp motor, providing a vast amount of power to complete any task. I mean, this can seriously compete with a petrol-powered chainsaw, that costs three times as much. There are no problems with the motor, even after extended periods of usage. It doesn’t seem to heat up too much, even after slicing through huge trees.
Chain Tightening System
We’ve all been there right when you’re just about to start cutting and notice your chain is a little loose, and the tool that came with the chainsaw is just nowhere to be found. However, you won’t have this problem with the Oregon PowerNow CS1500, as it has a fully tool-less chain tightening system, allowing you to tighten the chain no matter where you are, easily.
Design
The aesthetics of this tool are rather attractive. However, the ergonomics of this tool are even more attractive! The design of this tool allows it to be exceptionally well balanced, which is essential for precise work, and also for safety. As it is a fully electric chainsaw, it is also extremely lightweight, allowing for even the most precise of work to be safely completed.
Self Sharpening
If a tool-less chain tightening system isn’t enough to persuade you, this chain saw also features Oregon’s signature PowerChain sharpening system, meaning the chainsaw automatically sharpens the chain. This is great, especially when you consider the chain tightening system, as it allows the user to spend less time maintaining the tool; and more time cutting.
Handle
The handle is extremely large and comfortable. This is especially important, as it allows the user to handle the tool easily, whether they are wearing gloves or not. It also features a light rubber coating, to reduce the number of vibrations transmitted to the user.

Oregon CS1500 Chainsaw Customer Reviews
As you would expect from a tool produced by Oregon, the build quality of this tool is excellent. Everything is fully secured to the tool, and there is no “wobble” between the handle and the main body of the tool – which, in my opinion, is extremely important. It also features a chain brake, meaning the chain will slow down extremely quickly if the power cuts out, or if you take your finger away from the trigger. Let’s check out what people have said about this item.
Customers liked Oregon CS1500 chainsaw, because of build quality, easy to start, self-sharpening capability.

Conclusion
This is one of the best electric chain saws currently in the market, Oregon has done an amazing job producing a tool of this quality, at a competitive price. The high powered motor, when paired with the abundant safety features work together to make an extremely successful tool, that will easily blast through everything. One thing to note is that a power cord is not included; you will need to buy an extension cable. However, this is fairly common with electric chain saws.
