Unfortunately, my old jigsaw burnt out after many years of extensive use, I didn’t have a large budget but needed a new one, urgently. After researching, I found the Porter-Cable PCC650B, and let me tell you… This jigsaw is absolute bliss. While it may be cheap, it doesn’t skimp on performance or features. It is an absolute treat to use, and while it may not be the most powerful – I found that it easily cuts through anything I required it to, and I’m sure it’ll be the same for you.
The Porter-Cable PCC650B features three various orbital settings, allowing the user to optimize the tool depending on the material they are working with.
The trigger system integrated into the Porter-Cable PCC650B controls the speed, meaning you can effortlessly control the speed as you cut through wood. This is a nice feature, as you can slow down the blade without having to stop while cutting corners.
Blade Release Mechanism
As with many jigsaws, the Porter-Cable PCC650B also features a tool-less blade release mechanism. However, this is one of the easiest and most secure I have ever seen. With a simple flick of a switch, the blade is released. However – when the blade is secured, it is secured – unlike many other jigsaws.
The motor within this jigsaw is a 20 Volt motor, which provides a maximum of 2,500spm. This large motor provides ample power, regardless of what material you decide to cut with the Porter-Cable PCC650B. The power that the motor provides is huge, especially when you consider that this is a cordless jigsaw.
The PCC650B’s design is surprisingly rather attractive, it features an industrial, yet elegant, subtle design, accented with a cherry red. In terms of ergonomics, the Porter-Cable PCC650B features a fair few premium features, including rubber vibration dampening on the exterior of the handle, allowing for more comfortable and accurate user experience. The trigger is excellently positioned so it can be easily “pulled back” by anyone, regardless of whether they have small or large hands. The base is rather large, which is excellent – as it adds an extra layer of stability.
Dust Clearance System: Although this jigsaw is relatively cheap and cheerful, it features a dust clearance system – which is an excellent addition on a saw within this price bracket. It works relatively well to clear the cutting surface in front of the blade from dust and wood chips, allowing for a perfectly smooth cut every time.

Porter-Cable PCC650B Jigsaw Review Customer Reviews
The overall build quality of this tool is rather amazing. Although you would expect it to be reasonable, as it isn’t exactly a premium tool, it’s more than reasonable. It’s exceptional. Seriously, the build quality of this jigsaw surpasses the build quality of industrial-grade jigsaws in some cases. The whole jigsaw is solid, including the blade mechanism allowing for absolutely perfect cuts every time. The trigger is relatively firm, with no wobble allowing for precise speed control, which is essential for intricate work.
Customers find it value for the money. It’s powerful, lightweight, and fast. The only concern they felt is the battery life, although justifiable considering the power it delivers
In conclusion, if you’re on a budget – the Porter-Cable PCC650B is for you. It simply has the characteristics of a jigsaw twice its price. Along with some premium-level features such as a dust clearance system. Even with the included blade, you will receive perfect results every time, thanks to Porter-Cable’s innovative background. Please bear in mind that you will need to purchase a compatible battery for this jigsaw, as it will not be shipped with a battery.
